Wireless setup - iPhone and iPod Touch

NOTES:

1. In order to connect to WUFI-S, your iPhone or iPod Touch must be updated to version 2.0 of Apple's iPhone software.  This can be done through your device setup page in iTunes.  

2. If you are connecting your iPhone or iPod Touch to WUFI-S in a residential hall, you must first register your device's MAC address on the residential network using the STS self-registration page .

 

iPhone:

1. While connected to the AT&T Edge Data network, open your iPhone's web browser and navigate to this web page. (Go to sts.wustl.edu, and click on Getting Connected - Wireless setup - iPhone and iPod Touch.)

2. On your iPhone, download the STS iPhone configuration profile from the link at the bottom of this page.  Please read steps 3 thru 9 first. We recommend you print these instructions by clicking the "PRINT" link at the top-right of this page. 

3. Once the STS iPhone profile description shows on your iPhone's screen, click "Install."

4. When prompted that the authenticity of the profile cannot be verified, click "Install Now."

5. You will be prompted to enter a username for WUFI-S.  Enter the first portion of your email address, including the part after the @ but before .wustl.edu.  Click "Next." 

6. Next you will be prompted for a password for WUFI-S. Enter your email password and Click "Next."

7. Once the iPhone says "Profile Installed" click "Done."

8. Open a web browser and verify that you are connected to WUFI-S.

 

iPod Touch:

1. Connect your iPod Touch to the WUFI open wireless network

     a. On your iPod Touch, click on "Settings"

     b. Click on Wi-Fi

     c. Under "Choose a Network" select WUFI

2. Open the Safari Web browser and open any webpage.

3. You will be prompted to enter your login credentials - enter the first portion of your email address, including the part after the @ but before .wustl.edu. 

4. Once you have logged in, navigate to this web page. (Go to sts.wustl.edu, and click on Getting Connected - Wireless setup - iPhone and iPod Touch.)

5. Follow steps 2 thru 8 on the "iPhone" section of this page.  

6. NOTE: If your iPod Touch does not automatically connect to WUFI-S after the configuration file is installed, go into Settings - Wi-Fi, click the small blue arrow next to "WUFI" and then click "Forget This network." This will tell your iPod Touch not to connect to the WUFI network, and it should then connect to WUFI-S by default.
