Title: Student Imaging Technician
Department: Washington University Shared IT Services (SITS)
Reports To: SITS Implementation Manager

Salary/Schedule: $11-$12/hour – up to 20 hours/week

Location: MedSchool campus

Position Summary:
The Desktop Imaging Technician position requires comprehensive computer knowledge and experience to perform the imaging technician tasks.  The imaging technician works on-site at the end users’ desks to apply pre-determined images to computers, install software and peripherals, and troubleshoot issues as they arise.  It is important that this person be organized and have the ability to work both independently and as a team member. Actual computer work can vary from troubleshooting (hardware / software), rebuilds, new builds, and high quantity imaging.

Job Duties:

  • Backup users’ machines in preparation for migration
  • Image users’ machines with either Windows or Mac operating system using SCCM or Casper
  • Install user software per build sheets
  • Troubleshoot and set up peripherals
  • Contribute to discussions regarding improvement of SITS implementation project


Accountability:

  • Ensures accurate imaging of users’ machines per user build sheet
  • Problems and disputes are resolved in a timely manner
  • Communication with the implementation lead is consistent and thorough
  • All issues encountered during build process recorded in ServiceNow ticket

Qualifications:

  • Exemplary experience as a Level I Tech
  • One year of experience that successfully demonstrates:
    • Leadership/mentorship capability
    • Advanced knowledge of computers and networks
    • Outstanding customer service skills
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to work well independently and with team
    • Ability to multitask
