Exploring St. Louis

St. Louis was founded in 1764 as a French fur-trading village by Pierre Laclede. He named the city “St. Louis” for King Louis IX, the crusader king who was the patron saint of Laclede’s then ruler King Louis XV.

From simple fur trading to corporate enterprise, St. Louis has founded many successful companies including Anheuser-Busch, Express Scripts, Panera Bread, U.S. Bancorp, Monsanto, Nestlé Purina PetCare. Today, St. Louis is known as one of the fastest growing cities for technology jobs (CNN Money). With many free resources and growing entrepreneurial resources, like the St. Louis Technology Entrepreneur Network, St. Louis poses to become one of the next centers for technology expansion.
