Title: Brown School Student Tech Assistant
Department: Brown School of Social Work
Reports To: Ph. D. Program Manager
Hours/Salary: 15-20 hours per week / $10 an hour (position for fall 2016)
Job Description: The Student Tech Assistant will assist with the department’s effort to transform hard copy files into an automatized, electronic filing office.  (i.e. electronic forms, marketing, etc.) The position encourages creativity and innovative thinking to modernize the process of the program through technology in order for the program to run more efficiently for current and prospective students, faculty and staff.

General Responsibilities:

• Make changes and updates to the WUSTL Box PhD folder
• Create e-newsletter templates and HTML emails
• Code, test and debug using various web browsers
• Assisting with new web/e-filing projects
• Learn and demonstrate best practices for documentation
• Creation and editing of electronic forms
• Provides support to create an electronic filing system and process/procedure for the program under the instruction of the program manager
• Assist with marketing strategies and advertisements

Accountabilities:

• Projects completed in accordance with deadlines
• Other process improvement initiatives

• IT & Communications team
• Assoc. Dean and PhD Manager

Qualifications:

• Experience with SharePoint
• Knowledge of HTML and CSS, JavaScript and other web languages a plus
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and self-motivated
• Manage multiple jobs at once
• Basic system administration experience of various operating systems
• Knowledge and proficiency with standard Windows operating system
• Ability to work well independently and as a member of team
• Ability to quickly learn and apply new technical concepts
