Title: Depot Level I Student Tech
Department:  Depot, Shared Information Technology
Reports To: Depot Supervisor of Shared Information Technology
Salary: $10-11/hour – commensurable with experience
Schedule/Hours: must have minimum availability of 6 hours to work during business hours: M-F 8AM – 4:30PM ; up to 20 hours/week
Location: MedSchool Campus – 4480 Clayton Ave. | Campus Box 8218

Position Summary: The Level I Student Depot Tech provides a number of different roles in support of technologies for customers at Washington University. The roles include: Assisting with the daily operations of the Depot. Creating IT hardware quotes for customer requests. Preparing IT equipment for disposal. Preparing IT hardware for deployment including receiving, imaging and shipping.

Job Duties:

  • Depot
    • Resolve or escalate incident tickets as assigned
    • Answer communications (Phone, Email, Walk-In)
    • Resolve or escalate and document via ServiceNow
    • Receive inbound equipment
    • Perform equipment inventories
    • Communicate with customers & vendors to create hardware quotes
    • Assist with imaging new computers
    • Prepare equipment for shipping
    • Properly disposing of old equipment
    • Maintain security of equipment and space
    • Attend all required meetings and training sessions
    • Other duties as assigned


  • Incident tickets properly documented, resolved and follow-through assured

  • Experience with Mac OS and Windows
  • Demonstrated experience performing basic desktop and laptop troubleshooting and maintenance
