Department:  Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts
Reports to:  Sam Fox IT Staff
Salary:  $10/hour, 8 – 12 hours per week (Needed hours:  Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 1:00 – 5:00)
Position Summary:  The Student Technology Assistant will support the Sam Fox IT staff, providing primary support to the student user environment of Sam Fox School labs and studio areas.

Job Duties:

  • Diagnose and resolve WiFi connectivity issues
  • Assist with and cooperatively resolve operating system-related issues
  • Identify hardware issues and refer to an authorized service facility
  • Monitor student printing resources and other supplies, notifying IT staff when issues arise
  • Troubleshoot classroom AV equipment

Accountabilities:

  • Understanding of the technology needs of Sam Fox School and commitment to providing excellent customer service
  • Problems are resolved quickly and effectively

Interactions:

  • Students, IT Staff

Qualifications (Strong competencies in):

  • Windows 7
  • Apple OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
  • Apple OS 10.7 (Lion)
  • Microsoft Office (Windows and Apple)
  • Outlook configuration and trouble shooting
  • Adobe CS6
  • Autodesk components (AutoCad)
  • WiFi (configuring user devices for connection and trouble-shooting to WUFI-S)
  • Handheld device configuration (smart phones, smart pads, etc.)
  • WUSTL Connect
