The STaRS Program Manager assists hiring departments with:

  • job description drafting
  • job posting
  • recruiting
  • screening applicants
  • recommending qualified candidates
  • drafting and sending “offer of employment”

Hiring managers are responsible for the following:

  • securing funding to hire a student employee
  • defining job title, wages, schedule, job location, job summary, accountabilities, qualifications/skills
  • communication post follow-up interview (to hire or not)
  • arranging onboarding with HR coordinator
  • first day of work instructions for student employee and securing any equipment, access etc.
