STS is excited to introduce a new way to print.  Simply email your document to print@wustl.edu!  This new service is designed to allow printing from smartphones, tablets, and other devices that may not normally be able to use the WUSTLprint campus printing system.

Email printing is now available on student printers in the following locations:

  • Residential computing labs
  • Olin Library Locations
  • the DUC (Danforth University Center)
  • BD (Bear’s Den)
  • Arts and Sciences
  • Business School
  • Brown School
  • School of Engineering
  • Tech Den

Here’s how email printing works:

  • Using your WUSTL email account, email your document(s) to print@wustl.edu
  • Within 60 seconds, your emailed document(s), along with the email itself, will be translated into print jobs and sent into the WUSTLprint system
  • Visit any print release station in the residence halls, Olin Library, the DUC, or the other locations noted above, and swipe your WUSTL ID card – your print jobs will be waiting for you

Please note the following limitations of email printing:

  • The system can only accept PDFs, Microsoft Office Documents, and Images.  Acceptable file types are: txt, rtf, pdf, doc, docx, xls, xlsx, htm, html, jpg, png, bmp, gif, csv, ppt, pptx, odt
  • The system will send all attachments into WUSTLprint as black and white – color printing is currently not supported
  • The system will send all attachments into WUSTLprint as duplex (2-sided) print jobs – single sided printing is not supported
  • Powerpoint presentations will automatically print as 1 slide per page – multiples slides per page is not supported
  • Some Microsoft Office Documents may contain slight changes in formatting during the email to print job translation process

If, when sending an email to print@wustl.edu, you see an error saying that your job was canceled, that your email is not recognized then you will need to make some changes to your identity settings on Webstac.  You can fix this by following the instructions here.

Any other problems using the new email printing functionality, please let STS know by submitting a support request or sending us an email.
