Title: TechBar Student Tech (3 positions available)
Department:  WashU IT
Reports To: Manager of technical services
Salary: $12/hour
Schedule/Hours: daytime business hours, approx. 10hrs/week, flexible schedule according to availability but preferred: Monday & Wednesday – 10am-3pm, Fridays 8:30am-Noon

Position Summary: The TechBar Tech will assist users with PC and Mac issues, doing initial troubleshooting for software and network-related problems.

Job Duties:

  • Resolve or escalate incident tickets as assigned
  • Answer communications (Phone, Email, Walk-In)
  • Resolve or escalate and document via ServiceNow
  • Communicate with customers
  • Attend all required meetings and training sessions
  • Other duties as assigned

Accountability:

  • Incident tickets properly documented, resolved and follow-through assured
  • Area security maintained
  • Required meetings and training attended
  • Positive customer experience

Qualifications:

  • Experience with Mac OS and Windows
  • Experience performing basic desktop and laptop troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Demonstrated customer focus
  • Ability to work well independently and as a member of team
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new technical concepts
  • Ability to multitask
  • Knowledge of computers and networks
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
