Washington University in Saint Louis provides cable television services to Residential Colleges, The Village, Millbrook Apartments, and the Fraternities.

NOTE: If you live in off-campus housing, you must contract with Charter or another television provider for cable TV service.

Connecting your Cable TV

To connect your TV to the campus cable system, follow these steps:

  1. Connect your TV to the cable outlet in your room using a standard coaxial cable.  If you do not have a cable, you may pick one up for free at the STS Service Desk in the Gregg Hall storefront.
  2. If your TV is not set to accept a digital input, please make sure that it is set before going to step 3. If you have an older TV that does not have a digital tuner built into it, Washington University Media Services recommends purchasing the iView 3500STB Media Player/Digital Converter Box with Recording/MKV.
  3. When you first turn the tuner on, you will need to exit the setup menu, next you will select the channel select menu. Change signal type to cable, then perform an auto search.
  4. If your TV is a “smart TV” that connects to the Internet, you will need to lookup the wired and/or wireless MAC address for your TV and register it using the manual device registration page before connecting it to either the “wustl-2.0” wireless network or the wired network.

Note: How to perform steps 2 and 3 will vary depending on the make and model of your TV.  Refer to your owner’s manual for more specific information.
