Department: WashU IT, Tech Den
Reports to: Tech Den, Assistant Director
Salary/Hours: up to 20 hours/week, $13-$14.50/hr
Position Summary: The Tech Den Level I Tech provides support with student facing tech bench troubleshooting, as well as 3D printing services at Washington University. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, thorough and willing to learn new skills, who will work with full time staff to explore technical support efforts for all graduate, non-residential, international and medical students. On the job training will be provided for the this position.
Job Duties:
- Front line customer support, greeting clients, answering phones and creating incidents in ServiceNow, the records management software.
- Assessing the level of hardware or software support needed.
- Assigning loaner laptops as needed.
- Support Tech Den/University 3D print efforts.
Qualifications:
- Meet basic STaRS hiring criteria: student with at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA, in good academic and judicial standing – upperclassmen and graduate students highly encouraged to apply.
- Ability to quickly learn and apply new technical concepts.
- Ability to multitask.
- Basic knowledge of computers and networks.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- A strong desire to learn.
