STS Special Projects Team Student Assistant – Job #115

Department:            IS&T- Student Technology Services
Reports to:              Communications and Training Specialist
Pay Rate/Schedule:  $10.00 per hour 8-12 hours per week

Job Description:  

Members of the STS Special Projects Team assist with the creation of technical documentation, training materials and video projects for Student Technology Services’ clients and staff.  This role requires an individual with previous audio, video editing and video production experience as well as working knowledge of web content development and management.

Job Duties:

  • Write new web content based on department needs
  • Learn various media software used by the department
  • Edit existing print materials for web use
  • Create and edit web content
  • Test conferencing hardware changes and document results
  • Special projects video production and editing
  • Assist with Skype and Adobe Connect teleconferencing meetings

Accountabilities:

  • Complete projects in accordance with deadlines
  • Learn and demonstrate best practices for documentation
  • Attend required meetings and training
  • Develop and facilitate training sessions
  • Interactions
  • WUSTL clients (departments, offices, groups, etc.)
  • IS & T staff

Qualifications:

  • Meet STaRS hiring criteria
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated video production and editing knowledge
  • Ability to work under a deadline
  • Ability to communicate clearly and seek clarification from clients when needed
  • Excellent writing, verbal and organizational skills
  • Basic knowledge of Macintosh OS and Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Video Editing software (I.E. Final Cut Pro, Vegas Pro)
