Job Title: Data & GIS Student Assistant
Department: Data & GIS Services (DGS) at Washington University Libraries
Hours/pay rate: 10hrs/week, $10/hr

Job Description: Data & GIS services is searching for a student worker to fill a hands-on role working with research materials for approximately 10 hours/week. Example duties include review of materials, metadata creation, quality control and 3D digitization/scanning. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, thorough and willing to learn new skills.

Job Requirements:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
General Technology Knowledge
Basic Design Skills using Microsoft Office or Adobe Suite
Comfortable working closely with supervisor
Adaptive to a constantly revamping environment·
The person in this role should be intrigued by data, be detail-oriented
Enjoy working with data of all variety/quality, while also understanding the importance of properly managing data throughout its lifecycle.

      • Ability to quickly learn and apply new technical concepts

      • Basic knowledge of computers and networks
      • Excellent communication and organizational skills
      • A strong desire to learn
      • WUSTL student with at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA in good academic and judicial standing
