The STaRS Program Manager assists hiring departments with:
- job description drafting
- job posting and recruiting
- screening applicants
- recommending qualified candidates
Hiring managers are responsible for the following:
- scheduling interviews
- securing funding to hire a student employee
- defining job title, wages, schedule, job location, job summary, accountabilities, qualifications/skills
- communication post follow-up interview (to hire or not), sending employment offers
- arranging onboarding with HR coordinator
- first day of work instructions for student employee and securing any equipment, access etc.
- managing the student employee(s)
